| FORTHCOMING EVENTS: |
Institute of Marine Biology FEB RAS with
suppot of the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change (APN) will
hold a Training Course for Young Scientists:
Climate variability and human activities in
relation to Northeast Asian land-ocean interactions and their
implications for coastal zone management in Vladivostok,
Russia,
October 24-26, 2005.
It is a part of APN activity in the field of capacity buiding
and training workshops. Lectures will be delivered by experts in
climate change and variability/sea level rise, river
basins/coastal zone interactions, ecosystems, POPs; lecturers
are from China/Hong Kong, Republic of Korea and Russia as well
as from APN Secretariat. |

According to the project proposal, a meeting
with participation of the Russian, Chinese, and Korean
scientists is planned to be held in Nanjing (China) in November
2004. More information will be available in September. Please,

Tentative agenda of the meeting:
- presentation of scientific papers relevant to the project;
- discussion on the structure and contents of the collective
monograph which should be prepared at the end of the second
year of the project;
- discussion of other aspects (organizing, financial, etc.)
of the projects;
- discussion of the fieldworks in the mouth area of Amur
River next year;
- a session of local scientists with presentation of
materials on rivers of northeast China.
