Caulerpa brachypus

Thallus flat, grass green to dark green, consisting of extensive spreading stout stolons, to 1 mm in diam. bearing descending rhizoids and erect blades. Erect blades simple, leaf-like or branched; branching proliferous at the basal (or near), middle or upper (near the apex) portions. The blades oval to linear, 4-10 times longer than broad (0.3-0.5 cm broad, 1-3 cm long), shortly stipitate, with rounded or emarginated apices. Margins smooth, finely or coarse toothed. Rhizoids branched. Growing on sandy bottom with rocks or dead corals in shallow areas to 30 m depth at sites exposed to moderate wave action.
