Colpomenia wynnei

Thallus simple, finger-like, saccate, hollow, golden-brown or darker when fertile, 5–15(–25) cm long and 1.0–2.0(–5.5) cm wide, tapering toward the base and tips. Usually several thalli to 12(–30) arise from a common base. Membrane of thallus 70–88(–110) μm thick and composed of 2–3 cells thick of inner larger colorless cells, a single subcortical layer and a single cortical layer of small cuboidal cells. Plurilocular gametangia 28–38 μm long, uni- or biseriate, forming dense sori over the thallus.

Central and South America, Asia (Japan, Korea).
