Main fields of research:

  • Study of the mechanisms of cell differentiation in various processes of morphogenesis (asexual reproduction, embryonic development, regeneration) in echinoderms.
  • Study of the role of the cellular and humoral components of the immune system in maintaining the genetic and structural homeostasis of the body.
  • Development of modern approaches to the cultivation of marine aquatic organisms.

Approaches and methods used

Light, laser and electron microscopy, microtomography, immunocytochemistry, one- and two-dimensional electrophoresis, chromatography, immunoblotting, real-time PCR (qPCR), rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE), in situ hybridization (WMISH), bioinformatics.
